I give lessons in Hampstead by appointment. I teach evening classes and workshops in central London.
I am especially interested in working with performers and children: I have given workshops at the Royal College of Music, Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama, the Musicians Union, the Alexander Technique Music Conference 2016, and most recently for the Royal Northern College of Music; as well as working individually with both professional musicians and singers (of all genres) to improve both pain levels and enhance performance.
I have 20 years experience teaching children (via music); and working more generally with people who wish to improve use of themselves in their chosen profession- whether from office based computer work to a professional kitchen.
I am a professional classical musician, and Feldenkrais teacher. I come from a background as a professional classical musician, and in that medium, have recorded and performed world-wide. I am an active pedagogue, and have taught violin and viola for twenty years to both children and adults. I have been incorporating Feldenkrais into my life since discovering it on a music course in 1999. On a personal level it has helped me play the viola without pain, be a more expressive, freer musician; as well as move and feel better in general.
I have taught workshops on Psychology of Performance; Practicing using Feldenkrais, and an 'Introduction to Feldenkrais' at the Royal College of Music, Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama, Birmingham Conservatoire and Royal Northern College of Music, as well as being the regular Feldenkrais teacher for the Musicians’ Union.
I am interested in helping musicians realise their potential, and also working with children – I have been teaching children for many years in a musical capacity, and am now teaching Feldenkrais to children.
I am on the board of the UK Feldenkrais Guild, and a Facilitator for Cultivating Practice for Feldenkrais teachers (CPD) for the Guild. I was Secretary/Acting Vice-Chair between 2014-2017 for the EuroTAB Council.
