Practice:

I work with people from all ages and all walks of life. Most people who come to my practice are experiencing some physical and/or emotional difficulties and seeking ways to improve the quality of their lives. Some of my students are looking to improve their performance as dancers, musicians, yoga teachers, etc...other search meaningful support for depression or post-traumatic stress disorders during or following particular life challenges such as bereavement, traumas etc... some want to acquire further tools to deepen their professional practice as Arts therapists, counsellors, social workers, life coach etc...others suffer from chronic muscular tension and associated pain, or seek relief from stress, recovery from injuries or rehabilitation post-surgery, others seek to find ways to better manage degenerative conditions such as arthritis, osteoporosis or neurological disorders like multiple sclerosis, cerebral palsy and others seek to recover functions after a stroke... then again, some are simply curious and seeking personal growth...

Biography:

My passion for dance and movement started in early childhood. I have studied various dance and bodywork techniques for over thirty years. This broad experience eventually led me to enrol on a Masters in Dance and Movement Psychotherapy at Goldsmiths University London, from which I graduated in 2006. I have now 10 years experience working in primary schools with children who experience emotional difficulties and/or Special Needs and in private practice offering dance therapy sessions to groups and individuals. I am a member of the Association for Dance movement Psychotherapy UK.

I encountered the Feldenkrais Method through a mini taster session whilst studying for my Masters. It was such an intriguing experience, I started the professional training straight after my MA. I have found the Method to be hugely beneficial to my life as a whole: in my dance practice, loosening tight joints , improving posture, balance, movement coordination and fluidity... in my health generally, freeing me from recurring and crippling migraines and improving my breathing... I have experienced the Feldenkrais work as a deeply transformative process, not only efficiently reorganising inefficient and potentially harmful movement patterns but also positively affecting self-image and thought patterns instilling self-acceptance and self-worth.

My classes, workshops, retreats and individual sessions are informed by my experience as a movement psychotherapist as I gently guide my students through a process of self-enquiry , each at their own pace, encouraging learning, empowerment and growth through playfulness and curiosity....
