Biography:

Janine completed her four year training in The Feldenkrais Method in 2010, having studied under the direction of Garet Newell, a student of Dr Moshe Feldenkrais. After finishing her undergraduate studies in Behavioural Science, Janine worked as a dancer, choreographer and teacher across Yorkshire, London and the Southern Counties. Whilst studying for a Masters degree in Dance and somatic studies at the University of Surrey, Janine first encountered The Feldenkrais Method through lessons delivered by Scott Clark. Having suffered from chronic back and sciatic nerve pain for several years following a series of dance-related injuries, and pursuing countless medical and complementary treatments to address the problems, it was in The Feldenkrais Method that Janine not only found long-term pain relief but improved functioning and flexibility, discovering a renewed fascination with movement. As a result of this, she decided to complete her professional practitioner training in order to give others access to all that The Feldenkrais Method has to offer.
For over a decade, Janine ran her Feldenkrais Method practise in the UK alongside a busy career as a senior leader in specialist education, where she worked with young adults with severe learning disabilities, Autism and complex behaviour. She also delivered training, workshops and conference keynotes across the UK about the adolescent brain, embodied leadership and promoting positive behaviour change.
Janine now practises as a Somatic Coach in Cyprus, utilising aspects of her Feldenkrais Method and Thrive Approach training throughout all areas of her work, to facilitate embodied self-development, support meaningful behavioural or organisational change, and foster awareness in her clients across a range of sectors.
