I work with a range of clients, from professional dancers, people struggling with emotional stress, and physical injuries. I also work with people who have debilitating neurological conditions.
I trained as a professional dancer and was always looking for ways to improve my dancing. But when I took my first Feldenkrais class, I was in for a bit of a shock; I didn't really know what to expect, I knew I wasn't going to an ordinary exercise class, but this was extraordinary. Afterwards, walking down the street, with a spring in my step, as if a weight of stress and anxiety had been sucked out of me. I felt soft inside, joyful, quiet, with a sense of hope. This was a very new feeling for me at the time. Bingo! I was hooked. After that I went to a class every week, and practiced that lesson every morning until the class a week later - a bit extreme maybe, but I was so curious about what was happening to me. My dancing did improve; injuries began to fade and I began to enjoy moving in a different way - from the inside. Practicing Feldenkrais helped me to get through what was a very rough time in my life. After 3 years of daily practice, I decided to do the professional training in order to share this with others. I've never looked back!
I also completed the JKA programme in Germany. This is a 1 year course specialising in work with special needs children. This is a course designed and developed by Jeremy Krauss who trained with Dr Moshe Feldenkrais. The JKA programme is an extension and development of some of the methodology of the Feldenrkais work.
