Joining the Feldenkrais Guild UK (FGUK)

There are six types of membership of the guild, with their respective benefits. Please join the Guild to support the development of the profession and communication with the wider community about the Feldenkrais Method.

To join the Guild in any membership category, please fill out and submit the joining form:

Membership categories

All members benefit from being part of the UK Feldenkrais Community, receive an email newsletter released every three months, with articles, news and interviews with Feldenkrais practitioners and enjoy reduced rates at our public events. 

Friends

Members of the public who are interested in the Feldenkrais Method and want to support the Guild can join as Friends for £32/year, and join this community.

All Professional Members:

  • Have use of IFF facilities / discounts
  • Receive monthly email bulletin about Guild activities, events & opportunities
  • Have access to the members’ portal on the website which includes resources, articles and the calendar of events
  • Have access to the members’ Facebook discussion group

Those practising or training can choose from the following membership categories which have these additional benefits:

Full Member (£125/year)

For Feldenkrais practitioners who have completed a recognised training course, are authorised to teach Awareness Through Movement (ATM) and Functional Integration (FI) and are resident or work in the UK. Full members may:

  • Use the letters FG(UK) after their names and have the right to use the IFF logo and ‘The Feldenkrais Method®’ (registered trade mark #1563759)
  • Upload their own profile, website & contact details to the website for public visibility
  • Upload their listings, classes, workshops to the website
  • Attend subsidised Guild Days for skill sharing, knowledge exchange & discussion
  • Attend Guild-organised advanced training courses
  • Access fee assisted places available for Guild organised trainings
  • Access the Guild Facebook team to promote articles about the Method
  • Use the postal library
  • Use of Guild publicity materials (e.g. leaflets, banners for public events)
  • Apply for project funding grants
  • Vote at the AGM and on the Guild Committee

Full members must provide evidence of current Professional Liability Insurance, and sign up to the FGUK Code of Ethics.

In the first year of full membership, newly qualified practitioners are charged a reduced fee (75% of the full fee – £94).

Overseas Member (£62/year)

For Feldenkrais practitioners who have completed a recognised training course, are authorised to teach ATM and FI and who are not resident or working in the UK. Overseas members may:

  • *Use ‘The Feldenkrais Method®’ (registered trade mark #1563759). Use of the IFF logo for members from abroad would fall under the jurisdiction of their local guild, if one exists; otherwise, they qualify to use the logo as members of the FGUK
  • Upload their own profile, website & contact details to the website for public visibility
  • Attend subsidised Guild Days for skill sharing, knowledge exchange & discussion
  • Attend FGUK-organised advanced training courses
  • Access the Guild Facebook team to promote articles about the Method

Overseas members must provide evidence of current Professional Liability Insurance, and sign up to the FGUK Code of Ethics

Student Teacher Member (£62/year)

For students enrolled on a recognised training course who are authorised to teach ATM. Student Teacher members may:

  • *Right to use ‘The Feldenkrais Method® (registered trade mark #1563759)
  • Upload your own profile, website & contact details to the website for public visibility
  • Upload your listings, classes, workshops to the website**
  • Subsidised Guild Day for skill sharing, knowledge exchange & discussion (at the discretion of the trainer)
  • Guild-organised advanced training courses (at the discretion of the trainer)
  • Fee assisted places available for Guild organised trainings
  • Use of the postal library (if resident in the UK)
  • Use of Guild publicity materials (e.g. leaflets, banners for public events)
  • Access to Guild Facebook team to promote articles about the Method
  • Voting rights on the Guild Committee (if holding a named position and not student rep)
  • Voting rights at the AGM

Student Teacher members must provide evidence of current Professional Liability Insurance, and sign up to the FGUK Code of Ethics

Associate Member (£44/year)

For qualified practitioners whose practice is under the auspices of other institutions such as hospitals or colleges or qualified practitioners who do not choose full membership. Associate members may:

  • Attend subsidised Guild Days for skill sharing, knowledge exchange & discussion
  • Attend FGUK-organised advanced training courses (at the discretion of the trainer)
  • Use the postal library (if resident in the UK)

Associate members must sign up to the FGUK Code of Ethics

Student Member (free)

For students who are enrolled on a recognised training course and are resident or training in the UK. Student members may: 

  • Attend subsidised Guild Days for skill sharing, knowledge exchange & discussion (if not including Functional Integration)
  • Attend FGUK-organised advanced training courses (at the discretion of the trainer)
  • Use the postal library (if resident in the UK)

Members joining partway through the membership year (which begins on 1 August) will be charged pro rata.

Please note, in addition to the membership categories above, on an occasional basis, the Feldenkrais Guild nominates Honorary Members for their extraordinary service to the Feldenkrais community.

* The ® symbol should appear prominently, and the statement of ownership by the Feldenkrais Guild UK Ltd must also be included.

** All events, workshops and classes promoted by the Guild on the website and social media must take place in the UK
