I have taught to people with different backgrounds and abilities including professional dancers, actors, musicians, singers, children, people with neurological conditions such as cerebral palsy and stroke.
Simonetta Alessandri is a dance artist and a Feldenkrais practitioner and that lives and works in London. She qualified as a Practitioner of the Feldenkrais® Method in 2002 in Rome. Since then, she has taught Feldenkrais to people with different backgrounds and abilities including: professional dancers, actors, musicians, singers, children, people with neurological conditions such as cerebral palsy and stroke. She has been professionally involved in dance for 30 years and specialized in combining Feldenkrais with dance improvisation, Contact Improvisation, choreography and contemporary technique. Simonetta teaches at Trinity Laban, Goldsmiths University, London Contemporary Dance School, Independent Dance and. She also teaches internationally and has been a guest teacher Germany, Colombia, UK, Norway, Israel, France, Switzerland, Italy, Poland, Spain and Taiwan.
Since 2002 she has been teaching Awareness Through Movement open classes and workshops, Functional Integration as well as experimenting with combining Feldenkrais and dance. She has developed her personal way of transferring knowledge from somatic experience into dance, specifically, into improvisation, Contact Improvisation, choreography and contemporary technique. She has been teaching Feldenkrais into dance, to the BA and MA students at Dance Conservatories such as Trinity Laban, London Contemporary Dance School, Accademia di Danza di Roma, as well as conducting open workshops at important institutions including: Centre National de la Dance Contemporaine Angers (France) Tanzfabrik Berlin (Germany), Istituto Italiano Lavoratori dello Spettacolo and Accademia Nazionale di Danza (Rome) and the Central School of Ballet (London) and Tainan National University of Art (Taiwan) She has also been teaching weekly open adult dance classes and professional classes.
